Terms of Use
These terms cover makemechic.net. Using the site means reading its figures, holding them against your own tape measure, your own wardrobe and the week you are dressing for, and following its links. They are written for that use and no other.
What this site is
This is the MAKEMECHIC catalogue: dresses, tops, two-piece sets, skirts and shorts, swimwear, knits and layers, jumpsuits and the rest, with the fabric, the fit, the colourways and the sizes printed where you can read them before you decide. It is a reference, not a checkout. Our retail partner takes the payment, ships the parcel and handles any return, and the contract of sale is formed there, on their terms.
Figures and photographs
Fabric, fit, sizes, colourways and prices come from our own product data. Prices move; the figure at the till is the one that counts, and where the two disagree the till wins. Photographs show the colourway being sold on a body rather than a styled substitute, and a picture that argues with its caption is pulled rather than captioned around.
Sizes
A size letter describes the garment, not you. The sizes we print are the ones the piece is cut in, and the way to use them is the way the fitting guide describes: measure bust, waist and hip once, hold the numbers against the chart on the buying page, and buy the size that clears your largest measurement. A label that says Medium in one fabric can sit like a Small in another, and the guide says so rather than pretending otherwise.
Fabric and care
Fibre content and care instructions are printed on the label sewn into the garment, as United States rules require, and the label is the document that governs washing. Where a page here names a fibre, it is repeating what the product data says about that piece; it is not a promise about how the fabric will behave in your machine.
